Swim Across the Sound

Remember When...

Remember When is a new feature of the Swim web page dedicated to the growth of the Swim since 1987. We will feature photos periodically that depict the sights and personalities that capture the evolution of the Swim into the premier local cancer charity in the area.

We welcome any past photos of Swim events and personalities. Contact Frank Szivos at St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation, 203-576-5451.

Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer among women in the U.S., and the second leading cause of cancer deaths among women. While the 1980s saw a sharp rise in the number of new cases of breast cancer, that number now appears to have stabilized. The drop in the death rate from breast cancer is probably due to the fact that more women are having mammograms.
