Expected to be completed in 2010, the new Center will enhance St. Vincent's cancer services and consolidate them in one location.
The new 125,000-square foot, four-story wing, attached to the 500,000-square foot main hospital building will provide the most contemporary equipment and technology, doubling capacity in Radiation Oncology. A new Linear Accelerator with IMRT and IGRT technology, and eventually, a PET/CT Dual Unit Scanner and a Simulator will be among the added advances. Holistic care will be available to the patients with cancer, including a boutique, spa services, nutrition counseling, social work, financial counseling, a meditation area and two gardens/courtyards.
Mrs. Pfriem has been an active supporter of St. Vincent's Medical Center and St. Vincent's SWIM Across the Sound for many years. St. Vincent's $141 million expansion project will also consist of a new Emergency Department, reorganized services and a new parking garage.
