Lexus of Westport Brings Hope to Women Battling Breast Cancer and Their Families

For four years now Lexus of Westport has been supporting St. Vincent's SWIM Across the Sound throughout October in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Once again, Lexus has pledged to donate $100 to the SWIM for every new and pre-owned Lexus it sells.

Lexus of Westport, with a second location in Fairfield at Kings Highway Cutoff, will also hand out SWIM pink magnetized ribbons to every customer visiting their locations during October to place on their cars.

"The SWIM is a great cause that we fully support," said Ed Gorman, Lexus General Manager. "It serves a great need in the community and we're happy to get the word out there and lend a hand through these donations."

Lexus of Westport is also a major sponsor of the annual SWIM Sunset Sail, chaired by Kathy Young of Fairfield.

"The SWIM has developed a great relationship with Lexus of Westport," Young said. "The entire car dealership stands behind the cause and has stepped up to support it the last four years. We're very grateful to have them behind us."

For more information on the promotion, contact Lexus of Westport at 1-866-737-3333 or St. Vincent's Foundation at 203-576-5451.

Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer among women in the U.S., and the second leading cause of cancer deaths among women. While the 1980s saw a sharp rise in the number of new cases of breast cancer, that number now appears to have stabilized. The drop in the death rate from breast cancer is probably due to the fact that more women are having mammograms.
