Swim Marathon Boat Captains

The Swim Marathon could not happen without the commitment and help of the volunteer boat captains and their crews. They donate their boats and time to make the Swim Marathon a success and ultimately help us raise more than $300,000 at this one event for cancer patients and their families.

All registred Boat Captains are required to attend a dinner meeting on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the Holiday Inn in Bridgeport (more details to follow).

Slips will be avaiable by request at Dansford Marina in Port Jefferson, New York beginning at Noon on Friday, Augutst 1, 2008.

Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer among women in the U.S., and the second leading cause of cancer deaths among women. While the 1980s saw a sharp rise in the number of new cases of breast cancer, that number now appears to have stabilized. The drop in the death rate from breast cancer is probably due to the fact that more women are having mammograms.
